Marissa Perry Saints is a self-taught artist, entrepreneur and10-year Old Town resident of Lafayette. Her passion is combining her creative interests with social causes. Marissa has been instrumental in helping start Alley Art Amazin’, pARTiculars Art Co-op and Art Night Out in Lafayette, CO. She is also the Founder of Dsenyo a social enterprise partnering with women and artisans in Africa and Brazil offering a line of hand-crafted fair trade goods.
Marissa taught high school history in inner-city Miami, FL. Soon discovering that teaching was not her medium, she returned to the insatiable creativity of her childhood and began a painting career. She became resident artist at the Bakehouse Arts Complex in Miami, and has been nationally recognized as a top emerging artist by Southwest Art Magazine. Marissa graduated with honors from the University of Arizona in 2003 with a B.A. in International Studies and was awarded The Deans Award for Commitment to Social Responsibility and Academic Excellence.
Marissa loves the Lafayette community that she calls home and spending time with her growing family. She’s also an active soccer player and enjoys getting out in the mountains with her pup when she can.
